We had passed through Rome and stayed here. Liked it so much, my wife and I took a special trip, just her and I, simply to stay at the Hawthorn Suites again. It was a great night alone. We walked the Broad Street shops, and although most were closed on Wednesdays, we found some cute, quaint and friends shops and restaurants to make our trip a special overnight get away. By far, though, the best part of Rome is Hawthorne Suites. Be sure to get a room overlooking the river. And, Off Broad restaurant is excellent, too.

It was a beautiful immaculate hotel with the most awesome staff you could find. My only issue is my room was located above the most rocking bar in town that was hosting 2 pre-divore, or wedding parties. There is no insulation between the bar ceiling and the room. I was moved to a different room the next evening. The second room was perfect!

If you appreciate the character that an old building can have then you need to stay here while in Rome. If you prefer a crisp, new cookie cutter hotel then this is not the place for you. The inside is beautiful with the exposed wood and brick. The floor has an unusual give to it as you walk which might bother some people but I was ok with that because I don’t expect perfection in any old buildings. My room was very clean, except the outside of my window but my view was as terrible so I just closed the curtain. I do recommend bringing a white noise machine but I do that at any hotel because hearing others pass by my room bothers me but I didn’t notice it at all with the white noise. All staff we encountered were very polite and provided excellent service. (Front desk, restaurant/bar, and breakfast staff) The hotel also provided some special touches in the room that you don’t get everywhere. I would stay here again if I’m in the area because it was so clean and staff were nice. Pricing was reasonable. Check out nearby restaurants such as John Henry’s! Wow so good! Don’t limit yourself to the hotel food because there are lots of great places close by. This area has a little Savannah feel to it!

We are so appreciative of the care and attention hotel gave to our wedding’s block of rooms during the unplanned Trump rally activities. The owner himself was there all Fri and Sat putting the needs of the guests first. The hotel staff managed the ever changing issues with such professionalism! Thank you for “ making weddings great again”!

Like a clean, comfortable, and fairly well-appointed time machine that takes you back to 2005, with broken WiFi, 350 standard cable TV channels but no Netflix or any other VOD/smart features, a single bar of T-Mobile and maaaybe 2 bars of Verizon, you won’t be catching up on your shows or getting any work done. This hotel has a lot to recommend it,
